Some awesome friends of ours offered to host our baby shower at their place. And even though I knew that I didn't have to worry about a thing, I still wanted to add a few personal touches to the party. Thus, I started thinking about simple and fun ways to do so...
I got some blue plastic pacifiers but wasn't sure what to do with them. That's when I thought it would be fun to incorporate them into a "welcome drink" to be served to the guests upon their arrival :-) I washed them really well and then placed one at the bottom of each martini glass, before pouring the baby-boy-blue liquid. I don't remember all that went into the drink, but I do know that there was some Blue Curaçao involved. Before you panic, know that this mamma here had a baby-blue Gatorade instead... :-)

We asked our friends to bring an old picture of themselves as a child, or a picture of their children, so we could guess who is who... Not a formal game (I definitely didn't want to "stop" the party for that), we just hung the magnetic board on the wall and it became an interesting conversation piece.
As a keepsake (and wall art for the nursery), I framed a picture of our first baby's ultrasound and asked friends to leave him a message.
